Yeehaw505

When I first moved to Albuquerque I really wanted to make a tool that would be helpful to the community and be a fun challenge to create. As I observed and engaged I noticed there wasn’t a locally run events platform that didn’t rely on Facebook, Instagram, or something other gross big tech solution. This bothered me and I felt like I could do something about it.

The Task

After a few conversations with friends that possesed a local understanding I set out to design and development an events website for Albuquerque that focused on concerts and films at a handful of popular venues.

I also visited a handful of local coffee shops and grocery stores to peer at their community cork-boards.

The Solution

Once I had my plan I focused on creating a non-intrusive design that would highlight the name, location, time, time and date for events with prime scan-ability.

Still in my first year I have focused on a handful of great venues wrangling their events each month. Plus I’ve connected directly with some of those venues and I’ve received a bunch of great feedback from folks that find the site useful.

I’m excited to see what year two brings!
